I’m normally not a procrastinator. When there is something that needs to be done, I dive in and work hard until the job’s done, but I’ve been putting off a job all summer. It’s something I know must be done, I know I can do it, and I know it will be well worth the effort when it’s done, but I have just been struggling to get it going. There are too many fun things to do in the summer! Now, summer break is nearly over and time is running out and, as any good procrastinator will tell you, it’s time to get it going.
I started tearing the master bathroom apart about two weeks ago. I live in a condo built in the 1970s and this bathroom is as unique a 70’s design as I’ve ever seen. The sink is in the master closet and the actual bathroom, the shower/bath and toilet, are in a tiny room off the closet (and in the space of a closet). Needless to say, it needs an upgrade, and this involves removing a wall, flooring, the vanity, a toilet, and the bathtub, as well as rerouting electricity and plumbing – ouch!

The result will be a bigger and more useful bathroom featuring a beautiful stand-alone bathtub, a new toilet, and a fashionable vanity and sink. I’ll be using a pocket door to add space, and even though the closet will shrink, there will be more space with a better design. Fresh paint, new flooring, bathtub, sink, and toilet will refresh the room and finish the master bedroom. It will be a lot of work and since I delayed so long to start, this job will last well into the fall, but it will be worth it when it’s finally finished. I’ll keep you posted!
